Hello! I just bought a '79 Camaro from a local title pawn place as a pig in a poke. I saw it in the fence, it wasn't available for inspection yet, just look at the exterior. I looked, saw turn downs underneath and a Hurst shifter, didn't look too rusted out, so I made an offer & they let me go ahead & buy it. Had it towed home, popped the hood, someone has swapped the 6 cylinder for a V8. Couldn't open the doors, the handles are broken, going to work on getting the doors open this weekend to try to work on starting it. Really thinking rat rod instead of restoration, have a little fun with it. Figured I'd start looking at advice on what to do and what to look for and found this place.

Welcome to the group. That's an awesome story on how you got the Camaro. What was your purchase price from the pawn shop - I hope they gave you a smoking deal on it. Post up some pics when you get a spare moment. When you get the doors open it'll be like opening a Christmas present.
