I'm new here and new to Camaros. My uncle owned a 1969 z28 that he bought from the original owner back in 1973 and drove it until the early 1980's when he put it into storage and it sat ever since. He died this year never having restored it and I bought it from his estate. Looking forward to it.
Congrats! '69 is my favorite year Camaro,I had one for 14 years.
Mine was just a plain jane but I stuffed a Vette 427 in it and had a ball.
My old roommate back in the late '70's had a '69 Z28 that I drove quite a bit because he liked to party a lot. lol
Hope you Z still has the original drivetrain and the DZ 302 is salvageable.
Post up pics when you can we'd love to see it.

Thank you. I have the original matching block, unfortunately it sat outside and is rusty. I’m going to clean it up and have it inspected to see if it can be rebuilt. My goal is to restore it to original, as much as can be reasonably done of course. Currently the car has a 327 block out of a ‘62 Chevy, with what appears to be the original heads and intake on top. From what he told me before he died, my uncle wanted to rebuild the original motor so he pulled it out and stuffed the 327 in there just to be able to drive the Camaro around. Eventually life got in the way and he stored it, intending to restore it someday, but never got around to it, though I have a whole truck load of spare parts for it. The car is very much original with only a few modifications, besides the swapped block it has a cowl induction hood, the stripes got painted over the dark green color. I don’t know if the transmission is original but it was originally a 4spd manual like it is now.
