Hi and thanks for the welcoming.

I was wondering. If anyone has tried to change the dash and gages from a 1988 to a 1983. The 1988 has all the real gages and the 1983 has idiot lights. Was hoping to pull the dash out of our 1988 and put in the 1983. Along with the interior. Just wondering if we have to pull the wiring harness too. Any help would be awesome.

The Blue Camaro is the 1983. And the red is 1988. The 88 has no title and is in pretty good shape but the 83 is the one my son really likes the 88 does not run but supposably has an rebuilt engine 350 the 83 has a 305. I will be trying to get the 88 running want to put some marvel mystery oil in the cylinders for a few days as the motor has not turned in 8 years. Then I’ll turn it by hand a few times so as not to break any rings. Well there you go. We off and running just wish it wasn’t so dam cold.

Might be a good idea to pull the valve covers off when you turn it by hand and make sure none of the lifters are stuck,8 years is a long time.
Maybe even pull the covers off and pour some of that oil down the pushrods to the lifters when you soak the rings.
Good luck with it!.

well I pulled the valve Covers and was so happy to see that the engine looks to be new. I found that the deck of the block has been machined down and could only see the last 3 letters of the suffix code they are FSX if anyone can help me with figuring out what this engine came from and displacement it sure would be helpful. I looked through all my Camaro codes and none match. I do not believe that it is from a camaro. Also I put the oil in the head tops as recommended and then a couple of days later was able to turn engine no problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Tom

thanks I took the valve Covers off and casting number on the heads is 10101810 looks like a 91 on 350 head 63 cc chamber. I looked at that site but no suffix code with FSX at the end.
