New From Indy
Hi Everybody. I'm new and live in Indianapolis. I don't currently own a Camaro, but I'm considering buying a fourth generation V6 model to use as a daily driver. I have a '99 Blazer that currently serves that purpose, but it doesn't get the best fuel economy. My wife is very opposed to this idea. She has her own car ('04 Malibu), but loves the Blazer. So, the more positive things I could say about the Camaro the less resistance I will face. [sm=bicker.gif] Any thoughts?

RE: New From Indy
honestly, the Ls1 camaro gets as good if not better mileage than the v6 models.
arguments against it:
-heavy
-un-reliable (compared to a typical DD like a civic)
-not as comfortable as others
-MPG isnt impressive either
honestly, i find it hard to argue in favor of any fbody as a daily driver over an suv. they serve best as a weekend/show/race car.
EDIT: oh, BTW, welcome.

There are several. It sits too low. What about the insurance? They're ugly. You just got the Blazer. The big one though is one I don't have an argument for: I've had the same car since I got out of college in the early 90's and I got the Blazer so it wouldn't have to be driven in bad weather. I only drive it on dry days and I try to limit how much I drive it overall. A Camaro might be fine in just rain, but snow could be a problem. I do have a Geo Tracker 4X4, but it's really just for off-road driving. I guess I'm just hoping to find enough positives to outweigh the negative. [sm=headbang.gif]
