Default New guy from TN

Hey guys I just picked up a 1983 Z28 yesterday. Been wanting one for a while and finally traded my s10 for one. I have been around drag racing for a while, dont really know a lot about it but I have been around it my wife's family drag races. They have a 1972 Camaro tube chassis car and a 1978 Camaro drag car. There are a few small problems that need to be addressed with my Z but I am ready to get them straightened out so I can drive it. It is a 1983 with a 305. Basically a stock car with a cowl hood and mild cam and a few other small things. Here is a picture (it's from my phone so it is crappy quality) I will get more after I get some stuff fixed and clean it up good.

Sharp looking car! Welcome aboard. What part of TN you located? I'm in Ktown but do most of my wrenching at the shop at my Mom's house in Cookeville. Big steel building sure beats the 2 car garage at my place!

Look under that 83 Z and check to see if it has a dana44 rear end

This one also has the functional fiberglass hood with the 2 flaps..I still have the flaps,i put the hood on my 93 Impala SS wagon clone

gm was on strike that year and if the car was ordered with a posi,it got
a dana44 rear end.

I bought a 83 Z28 a few months back..was going to built a drag car..
it was a 305 5speed with a bad motor,,then i found the dana44 323 posi disc rear...I just for kicks put the rear on ebay...and sold it for 1700 bucks...I only paid 100 for the Z28..so i took it apart and bought a 88 Monte Carlo LS.. Those rearends and worth big bucks..because you can't break them...

The fellow that bought it drove from chicago to pick it up,he thought it would get lost in shipping...lol
