New guy with questions
I am a previous owner of a 1975 Camaro, but have not been in one for many years. I am in the process of buying a one-owner 2002 Z28 Convertible with 6-speed manual, and am looking for some advice for my initial trip, which will be from San Diego to New Hampshire.
The car that I am buying has 11,000 original miles (yes, eleven thousand) and I am thinking through a list of pre-trip maintenance items prior to a solo trip with minimal tools and supplies. My son lives in San Diego, and is doing the pre-trip legwork for me. Unbelievably, to me, the factory tires are still on the original wheels. He has already purchased a set of American Racing wheels with new tires, so I won't be rolling on 20 year old rubber. He will take the car to the Chevy dealer for pre-trip service. The car has been driven occasionally by the original owner, including a trip to Las Vegas in the past year.
Off the top of my head, I am asking for fresh engine oil, coolant, and brake fluid. I might feel better with a new space-saver spare tire. What else should I be doing?
If this needs to be in the 4th gen forum, I'll continue it there. Thanks in advance for any useful advice.

You might want to verify functionality of the ragtop. It would be a bummer if you got half way home with the top down, enjoying the breeze, and got caught in a downpour. That would be an ungood time to find it doesn't go up...
