Tried posting this already. Hopefully this is not a duplicate. New Camero owner here. Just bought a 2018 SS 1LE in blue with 13,000 miles. It’s beautiful to look at, but turned out to be a dog. Previous owner had installed a turbo kit, trashed the engine and then tried to put it back to stock and sold it at auction. I bought it from the dealer who bought it at the auction and then went on to find that it spews oil from the front crank seal when you rev it hard. Chevy won’t warranty it due to the evidence that it was modded (which is pretty compelling). Bummer. I’m told (or rather saw on an episode of the Simpsons – so it must be true), that the Japanese use the same word for crisis as they do for opportunity. So, when this “crisatunity” befell me I did the only thing a smart man could do. I ordered a new crate LT376/535 engine (Texas Speed & Performance build), long tube headers, catted exhaust system, CAI, 180 degree thermostat & LT5 throttle body. Supply, installation and tune being done by Jannetty Racing. Once it’s built and tuned I’ll post pics of the dyno etc. in the relevant forum. It should be complete by mid Jan. Between now and then I’ll just have to be content looking at it and making brrmm noises. Which is more fun that it sounds. It really is a beautiful car!
