Default New Guy From CO

Hello! I'm excited to share my project with everyone and get suggestions along the way. I am restoring my 1973 Camaro Z/28. Well technically it's my fathers but, he has been promising this car ever since I was 6. It was supposed to be my first car but we never got around to fixing it after my aunt's husband blew the engine back in the late 80's. So I finally have the time, space, ability to get this thing back on the road. 20 years of talking about it, 6 years of buy things for it and 7 years learning and working as professional auto technician has finally lead up to this. Hopefully I don't screw it up lol. I'm sure I'm going to catch some crap for not keeping this car original but I could careless I'm going to build it the way I want it and drive the **** out of it as a daily driver when it's done. No trailer queen or garage kept show piece here. I'll post tons of pics a long the way too

Yes, I have them both... The engine was rebuild in like the late 80's and I think it was a poor job or severely abused. It threw a rod through the oil pan. The car sat for many years my dad and I pulled the engine when i was like 13 and it sat in the garage till 2004 when I was in automotive school I was going to rebuild it and found that the block had a crack. At the time I didn't know cracks can be repaired so I bought a 1997 LT1 and auto trans, off ebay. So I ditched the idea of being original a long time ago.

here's a link to my build Thread https://camaroforums.com/forum/2nd-g...8-build-60900/

Welcome to the forum, good looking car to start with. Would be cool if you could do a build thread in 2nd gen tech section.
