Default New guy with a 94 Z28

What's up guys. I'm new here on camaroforums. I'm on some other forums, like LS1tech and CamaroZ28.com, though. Just last week, I picked up my first LT1 F-body. I had owned a Camaro once before, but it was a white94 with the 3.4 and a 5speed. The new one is a polo green 94 Z28, with the 6speed. It's got: a Moroso CAI, Edelbrock shorty headers, full 3.5" exhaust(needs redone with smaller piping), and a cutout in place of the cat. It's been a pretty good car so far, and it is in excellent shape for how old it is and the number of miles.

Here's a couple pictures of my old V6. All it had aftermarket were the 16" Eagle Alloy 077's.

Don't mind the ricer floor mats. They were the only ones I had in the garage and they were out of my brother's old Honda.

And now, onto the bigger, better, and a lot faster. My 94 Z28. It also has ttops, but it's been too cold to take them out.

Yeah, it'll be one of my first. I'm thinking of going with the SLP Loud Mouth II catback (cutout-back in my case). The 3.5" piping from the cutout to the muffler just doesn't sound right on the car. It makes it too raspy, for my liking. And the muffler I have is too quiet.

Nice ride! Looks like a good find, especially with 6-speeds being more rare than the autos. I bet you can feel a huge difference over the old 3.4 V6.

Yeah, it's been a couple years since I had the old V6. That car was nothing but a headache. It never ran right. I actually only had it for about 2 months. Otherwise, my quickest car before this was my old 2000 Cavalier Z24 with a 5speed. But, it still only had about half the power that the Z28 has and is about a second or more slower in the quarter.

lol, you've got that right. The car just doesn't sound all that great with it on there. I wish I could just keep my cutout open all the time, then I wouldn't mind. lol

Welcome. and yeah that 3.5" is over kill. When you're making 600rwhp+ then it might be worth it. When I had my LT1 I had the stock manifolds connected to a borla 3" Ypipe, That one 3" pipethen ran all the way to the SLP loudmouth system. It sounded very good and LOUD. No cat, no muffler. I love LT1 front ends better than LS1, but the LS are much easier to work with to change lights, clear lenses..etc.

Nice clean lookin car
