New Guy
Hi folks,
Just getting ready to redo one of my Camaros - thought I would join a forum and here I am - I have 2 of them, a 1969 Pace Car (the one I am getting ready to redo) that I bought in '84, and a coupe I bought in '79. The coupe I used to drag race - the pace car is just a nice street ride that needs redone. Plans are for a local shop to do a frame off restoration, while I do the motor and transmission. I have the origional motor but it's not going in it this time, instead a 400 SBC / TH350 - hyrdaulic roller lifter cam, dart heads, on paper about 450hp / 500 ftlb torque if I go with headers, shave of about 50 / 50 with stock manifolds. Car should be done in the Spring 2010.

Thanks guys - Pistons should have shown up at the machine shop today for the SCAT crank kit - balance should be done next week then it's on with assembly of the new power plant. Pulling the old motor out of the body next week. Gotta find a flex plate for an interanally balanced SBC and I should be good on parts.
