Default New girl from connecticut!

Hey My name is Amanda! I am hoping to pick out out a 2010-2012 ss camaro by the summer and I was curious if there is anything I should be looking out for or any suggestions?

First of all, I wanna know more about working on the engine and stuff like that. Also, this car is going to be my daily driver so is it even smart to get the ss or should I just stick to a more simplistic v6 version. Whats the biggest difference and is it economical to drive a v8 as a daily driver?

Thank you!

Amanda

Welcome to the forum Amanda, for the most part, any 5th gen you pick up shouldn't require any maintenence other than the normal change oil/air filter/etc.. stuff for a long time. The V6 comes in at just over 300 HP, about 160 less than the V8, but still a good bit of power for the heavy car. You MPG are going to be better with V6 and depending on your gas budget and how far your driving each day, might be the better bet.

Amanda, welcome to CF. As far as gas mileage, the difference is around 2 city and 3-4 highway. So it depends on what type of driving you do, and how heavy you like to keep your right foot. Then decide if the extra fun factor of the SS is worth giving up a couple mpg's.
