New to the forum!
Hey everyone, since I'm new to the forum, I thought I'd introduce myself.
My name is Brett, and I'm from the Quad Cities (the IL side). I'm a 24 year old graduate student about to get my Master's degree in Engineering, and I just bought my 97 M6 Z28 last weekend.
I've had a little bit of everything when it comes to vehicles (trucks, imports, big-*** 4x4s, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and a couple of muscle cars) and I'm pretty good working under the hood.
My Z is a fairly nice piece...70K miles, interior is probably an 8, paint is probably the same.
I'm already working out the bugs on the car (there's a few things bugging me about it), and the forum has already been a big help...my water pump's leaking out of the weep hole, so that's the next project for this weekend.
The previous owner put on some goodies that I've enjoyed so far: Cat-back Borla exhaust with adjustable tone, K&N CAI, MSD 6A ignition with 8.5mm wires, Hypertechtune, IAT relocation, Centerforce dual-friction clutch, traction bars, Optima Red-Top, and a skip-shift eliminator.
I have a few plans in the future, but I'm going to keep the car mostly how it is right now. I'm not really interested in doing a cam or heads, or anything else of the sort. Basically, I don't want to crack open the motor unless something's broken. It has a few rarities that I like, so keeping it lightly modded keeps it valuable, IMO.
Anyway, I look forward to gaining lots of knowledge from all of you here, and helping out where I can.
