Default New B Saying hello.

Not new to the camaro world, ex had a 99 Z28, new GF has an 01 TA. Love the cars but no need for me to get one yet with the GF having one. I sell GMP diecast cars and noticed that the 69s sell more then any other year diecast. I was hopping I can find the reason why from the real car owners opposed to the diecast collectors.

To vote https://camaroforums.com/m_85023/mpage_6/tm.htm and you can only vote for one of the 4 there, but for next months "RTM" nominate who you wish and if they get enough nom's, then you can vote for them.

I have owned a 69 and a 70 Camaro. The first gens just seem to have that aura about them, cause they were the first.

But I can remember thinking years ago when I got the 70 that it was better than the 69. Little changes in the design and tweeking stuff made an improvment in the overall feeland driving of the car.

An example is that in 70 they bored the 396 out at the factory, actually making it a 402. And if you got the 375hp version this would have made it the ONLY year this engine was produced. Then in 71 they went to low compression engines for unleaded gas.

1970 Camaro is actually the year to have. (Am I biased!?!?!??!) LoL

The 69 was the last of the 1st gen. Made before the 2nd gen, it had the 'bugs' from 67 and 68 worked out. As far as techicalities go I am not sure. better stance due to body changes, ratio steering, 4 wheel disks. It was a big year for Don Yenko and the COPO, and it was the first year for Camaro to be an Indy Pace car. And I am biased as well.

Plain and simple....It was the last of the true muscle car stat's for the camaro...when you hear the name camaro that is the first car you think of.....to every camaro owner, the 1st gens are the only true camaro's. Even if we like a different gen the 1st still rings true.
