Default New '70 RS owner

Just got on here, glad to be back in a Camaro, I think. I've had several F bodies since my teen years, this is the first '70 I've owned.

Picked up a Z28 badged '70 RS last week. The owner's father built this car about 20 years ago. It's all old school . Dad went with a two valve relief flat top 350, 292 turbo heads, giant Lunati stick, Z28 "110" intake, Holley vac. secondary carb, LT1 rocker covers, roller tips, Muncie M20, 8.5 10 bolt, 3.42 posi., complete with Lakewood slapper bars. Son just went back through the engine this year, new FT pistons, smaller cam and valve springs, fresh 3 angle valve job. Strong pulling car.
There are a few parts I'm needing to put it together, and some late model parts I want to replace with '70 parts.
I think the shifter is out of a '77 or '78.
Gotta change the tall spoiler for a short rear deck spoiler.
I did get a set of early 5 spoke Z rallys with it that are going back on it, along with a few boxes of new and used parts he had stashed for it.
Sorry for the book. Crazy how much these cars bring now.
Will be checking the swap meet area for parts. Who has all the '70 - '73 parts stashed?

yes there very nice cars ? its the 70 an a half that is up there in value ,I had friend had one in the early 80s we cruzed in ,it was a fast fun car that sat very low in the back had the RPO Z27 package with 396 Displaced to a 402 an had an ugly tan paint job ,looks like was ss for that year according to nasty z28.com,an I just remember this big bearly guy saying its got a 400 in it ,an we just did not know what those cars would be worth today ,he beat it into the ground ,needless to say ,it did not survive he paid like $1200, back then for 12 year old 70 Camaro ss ,only as a parts car, welcome to the forum ,I like 2 gens a lot you can do with them too,an there were so many more options back then,an engine swaps a lot less complicated then todays 4 gens an 5 gens to much ,74 was a good year to

Thanks guys, It's raining pussies and poodles here for days. i'll get some pics of it when the sun comes back out.
The last 3 cars I've worked on here were '69 Camaros. I have to say, the 2nd gens ride and drive much better. Harder to work on, they are. I still like my Chevelle and Camino better. Much better for a Sasquatch like me.
Gonna leave the sbc/4 speed for now. Will be looking for a 5 speed box to try out as I go. Later.
