Last fall I picked up a 67 SS on ebay. Now that the weather is warming up I am getting ready to work on this bad boy. This is my first experience with cars like this and I can't wait to get going. Me previous car was a highly modded 300 hp rally car (4 banger). Sadly it was stolen last August. I always dreamed of owning a first gen, so I used the insurance money to put myself in an unusual situation. I bought this 67 "as is" from a fella who owned her for a short time. The car was partially restored somewhere in Virginia. It was being restored as a drag only car with a freshly rebuilt 396 thrown in with a T350 tranny. It put out some serious power on the Dyno (500 +!). I have essentially no information on the engine or car (actual displacement, cam, rear end gearing, etc). Huge brand new slicks on on the back with traction bars and skinny tires up front (all brand new). I have so many questions I don't even know where to start. I had some electrical trouble over the holidays and replaced the entire ignition system with some help from online forums. My first goal is to get the thing street legal and safe. Even with dual single chamber mufflers, the thing is insanely loud. The front suspension is trash and the wiring job was a complete hack. I have already purchased an entire new harness and the list of needs goes on from there. I am sure yall will hear from me fairly often... I will attach some more pics as soon as I can shrink the file sizes.
