Default New 2nd gen camaro owner with a few questions!

Hello everyone. My name is Joe and I recently bought my first camaro 1979. I have a few questions. When I purchased the car it came without seat belts and a driver seat bracket. Curious if they came with just lap belts or were 3pt standard and where to purchase these parts!? Also I wondered if lap belts were used would universal seat belts would work with my application or do I need specfic camaro belts ( price difference is crazy). Sorry for the noob question. Not knowing what was there from factory makes it tough to guess. Its not a restoration or anything if that helps with where to buy things haha.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply! I googled and saw both lap and 3pt factory style and universal didn't know if it made much difference . Any input if universal lap belts would work for front and rear or is their something special about the camaro specific belts would be great. Oem style camaro belts are like $400 for a set. A little pricey in my opinion.

they say front seat .go to ebay they have gm set 109.00 under 1979 camaro seatbelts would fit your 1979 as well as other deals way below $400.00 sparkys parts hub seller name too complete set new set for the rear would be like $60.00 ,looks like they sell unversal to there like $55.00 it talk about they fit many applications,i would look at the gm ones for your 1979 $109.00 save $300.00

looks like you can choose from retratable or not ,lap type are like one bolt done, look like most that retract are universal ,but say fit 1979

I've called a few local junkyards and came up with nothing. Seeing how expensive these parts can be is so strange to me, especially the front seat tracks. I thought 79 camaros were one of the most sold camaros of the time. Figured they'd be easier to come by lol. Thanks for the replies on seat belts . Any input on driver seat sliders. I've only seen used passenger side(looking for driver) on eBay and $240 new ones.

once again. Thanks for the replies!

Well you gotta remember these cars have been popular since new and are now 40 years old so the boneyards have been picked clean years ago and anything that arrives now gets parted out pretty fast, most get parted out on craigslist or ebay before ever seeing a wrecking yard.

I agree Y2K.
Being a safety item, new would be the best choice...
