Default lowBUDGETgarage mechanic online

Hello everyone!
My name is John Rose and I just joined the forums today. First, let me start by explaining that I have owned many cars in my time and a '67 and '70 Camaro were among the best. But, I now have a '69 Camaro sitting in my yard that I am finally getting around to working on. It has been sitting in my yard for about... 8 years, I guess. The previous owner didn't take care of it at all. Here's a pict.

So, a old buddy of mine called me up and asked if he could put my car on a new show he was doing for the internet. I said Sure! So, he's been documenting my progress which includes the tear-down, cleaning, rebuilding, fabrication, reassembly and painting. It's been a real blast doing the show. You should check it out. It's on Youtube.com right now and I think it's going to iTunes soon.

or search for lowbudgetgarage (all one word)
You might find it a bit entertaining and insightful. I wanted to teach others the process that the average person needs to go through when they don't have a lot of cash. So, watch the videos and don't forget to post a comment or two to help support our efforts.
I will now be on this site posting and hopefully answering some questions and getting help from others as well. ( I don't know everything.)

John Rose

Thanks guys.

Matts01ES: My plans are to bolt-up a '71 subframe, drop in a L98 corvette motor with a 700R4 trans, fix all the metal and shoot it with a wild paint job.

cplthomas: Great! Hope you can learn a few things from the videos.

It was cheap and my '70 handled like a dream. I also didn't wnat to convert to disc brakes for $1000.
The '71 came from a wrecked speedway car. I got it for $100 and pulled off the entire subframe and a Ford 9inch from the belly.

Thanks Matts01ES. But, I already have the new subframe set to bolt up to my '69 and it has the complete suspension assembly. I'd say in a month or so, it should be online at lowBUDGETgarage if you want to check it out.

I'm going with all the stock materials. It's low budget... remember.
