Just purchased a new 2012 Camaro 2LS!
So hello everyone!
I just purchased my first Chevrolet Camaro, a 2012 2LS. Silver Ice Metallic with the Black/Silver rims. It's automatic as well. I know, I know, you don't have to lecture me about manual vs. automatic, and I know I should have gotten the V8, but for $24k, and after test driving it, I couldn't say no. It felt like a dream, like, "All my years of driving crap cars, when I could have been driving this?!"
This Camaro is also the first sports/muscle car I've ever driven/owned. I eventually would like to get an SS, but right now couldn't afford that extra $10,000. The only other vehicle that I own is a 2003 Ford Ranger, so you can imagine the joy I felt when I first drove it, considering this Camaro was the first brand new sports/muscle car I've ever driven with some power.
Also, about the Automatic vs. manual decision I made. My brother works at a GM dealership as well(was a shop tech for many years, and recently switched over to the parts department), and brought the car home for me to check out. He drove both a manual and automatic, and he said even though he loves driving stick in most cars, for some reason the manual transmission in the V6 wasn't worth it, because the clutch was very hard to get used to I think, making it hard to shift smoothly or quickly. Maybe the transmission in the Camaro he drove was a dud? I don't know...
But if I ever get an SS with the V8, I'll definitely go manual, but for now, Automatic is fine with me.
So anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I am hoping eventually to do some upgrades to my new Camaro, but like I said I do not know much about these engines yet. Which is one reason I wanted to join this forum, to find out what others have been doing with their Camaros and finding out what types of engine and exhaust upgrades are out there. But I will probably wait until my warranty is up for that...
Well, thanks for reading, and have a nice day!

I will get more pictures tomorrow. I am also a fan of photography, so tomorrow I'm hoping to get some good shots of my Camaro, and my uncle's, who has a 1996 Camaro SS. I want to get some good shots of the interior as well. I had a nice long drive and got to get a feel for the car tonight, and it was such a pleasure to drive. Changing to manual mode on the transmission was nice too. Found out that even if you put it in manual mode, it still automatically shifts, but seems to hold each gear for a bit longer. The tap shifters on the steering wheel also work pretty well too, makes it even more enjoyable to drive!

Thanks! I have a quick question, where would I go to ask question about my car, such as about the Manual mode in the transmission, or about what types of engine upgrades that are out there for the v6?
