I need your help guys!!
I am a single mom and my son bought a 1986 Z28 and restoring it. I have been helping him, we have done a lot to this car. For what little money he has and put into it, I think it has turned out pretty sweet!! I can not get the rear defroster to work and don't know what the problem is. Can you give me some ideas to look for.
I am assuming you checked the fuse or circuit breaker.
First you need to see if the grid is getting power when the defroster is switched on.
Also check for ground on the opposite side. If there is power at the grid connection, then the grids are probably cut and need to be patched. Most part stores sell a repair kit. If no power to the grids then check power at switch. If OK at switch and the switch is good, then there may be a wiring problem between switch and grid, and it will have to be hunted down. The switch has a timer and will only stay on a few minutes and then shuts down.
