Howdy from Texas Yall!
Let me start by saying: Yes, i am from Texas. No, i dont want to hear any jokes containing the words Texas, steers and queers..also, we dont all ride horses or wear cowboy hats (all the time).
Now that were past that, lets talk V8's!
I posted this in the 3rd gen v8 section but id like opinions from all
"..305 sounds like it would be a good build. Also thinking about a 302 build (327 block with 283 crank) beacause theyre both oversquare engines..
oversquare engine = less losses due to friction (more efficient power) and higher HP. Disadvantages: higher linear piston speed and less torques..
The torque can be fixed with some good old-fashioned forced induction! Im not sure of the negative effects of an increased piston speed, if any--except maybe decreased piston ring life? Ideas?"

Welcome to the forum. I'm guessing you have a 3rd gen, post up some pics. Questions don' get answered in this section, you should have better luck with your other post.

Thanks! Ive got a 67 in many pieces, and im looking into a 90 rs with 225,000 miles to satisfy my v8 needs till the first gen is done..
The guy wants 1900 for the 90. ya right. ****ty paintjob over the original, interior is about what youd expect a 225k car to look like, and he told me "it runs OK". haha, i may offer him 1000.

ahh ok. use photobucket, go to photobucket and open free account. download pictures to photobucket copy the img code to your post and pictures show. makes for a great way to keep track of your build and lets us learn from it. orocker has a great 1st gen build thread.
