Hi from Utah
Hi I'm in the Air Force and stationed at Hill AFB in Utah. I have always loved working on cars and my first tinker was a 1985 Silverado 10 truck that was handed down to me when I was 16, my dad bought it new in 85. Then I got a POS 2002 Blazer S10 4x4 that was a lemon, traded that in for a new 2005 Subaru Imoreza 2.5RS and that car was pretty good after some bolt-ons. I then traded it in for the big daddy 2005 Subaru STi (my dream car), had it for 2 years but being a 4 door I thought it would be able to grow with the family but the car was too small to accommodate a rear-facing child seat, even though we have a Durango we still needed it to fit. I traded it for a quad cab 2008 Chevrolet Silverado LS that has a 4" lift with 33" tires and it has been an awesome truck so far. But I am bored since I don't have a car to tinker on, and since I have two daily drivers I decided to pick a project car for me and my son when he gets older. I found a 87 Iroc Z that needs very little work but runs and is in pretty good condition. Didn't get a chance to drive it as the roads here were pretty bad, the heads were rebuilt last year, new exhaust, needs a hood latch cable, passenger side e-brake cable, and front driver torsion bar bolt. Could use a paint job but no rust anywhere. Sounds like the car might have a shift kit as well because the guy said this car shifts differently than the previous 5 Irocs he's had, I'm thinking maybe a corvette servo but I'll find out what he's talking about when I go drive it next week. The car also comes with new seals and gaskets for the whole car including the t-tops.
