Hello Everyone
Hello to everyone here. I live in SW Florida and have recently picked up a 1996 V6 Camaro so naturally started looking for a Camaro community and stumbled across Camaro Forums. This is the first Camaro I have owned, with the exception of a 1995 Firebird I have always been a Mustang guy. I am very impressed with the site and look forward to helping anyone if I can. I have already found alot of good information to help tie up some little issues with my car. I will post some pics as soon as I can.
Thanks,

I love the 3800 so far, it runs super smooth. Unfortunately I have some steering and suspension issues to deal with. One of them being the main gear for the rack and pinion. Not sure how involved that is, it looks like it won't be to bad, (fingers crossed).

We are not supposed to get a technical in a welcome thread but as a general rule Racks are not worth repairing. You can get a low miles used rack out of a LS1 car for around a $100. This is an upgrade for our cars. The LS1 rack is the same rack that would have come in a 96 Y87 (performance suspension) car. It’s a close ratio rack and it gives the car a tighter feel. If you grab the universal joint that connect the rack and comes on the LS1 that is also an upgrade.

LOL, thanks for the vulgarity tip on the "stang" word Pig Hunter, and for the rack tip Gorn. I tried to post some pics in my garage and also in the 4th gen pic thread but it said I am not allowed to do so yet. I think it is the 10 post rule. I also tried to post some pics of the damage a large boulder from the back of a landscape truck did to the passenger side of my car Wed morning (not a great wa to start the day). Big goose egg in the side wall of brand new front tire, cracked front fender, and it beat the rocker in about 2 inches as it rolled down the under side of the car! I will post some pics when I can. Lesson learned, stay away from the trucks with large boulders on the back of them.
