Hey guys, my name is Daron, im 32 and have a 93 Z28 Camaro. I love this car, it has a stage 2 hypertech chip and im not sure of any other mods. I fell in love with the 4th generation camaro when i got my 1st car, it was a 94 with the 3.4 and a 5 spd. She ran great but i love the way these cars handle, corner and they feel great on the road. I got my car for 2500, im the 3rd owner. She has 197000 and going strong. Only downfall (in my opinion) is the automatic 4L60 trans and maybe the 2.73 gears.... Id have loved the T56.. But it has plenty of power for stock with a chip. But i love hot rods, drag racing and just hauling a**..
Hi Daron and welcome to the site, those LT1s are tough motors, one weak spot is the opti-spark distributor well known among Camaro and Corvette folk to be problematic at times.
If it ever fails get a new GM Performance Opti (ask me how I know what not to get lol) don't get anything else.
I had a '93 for quite a few years and enjoyed the heck out of it,it was still quite strong when I sold it with 222,XXX miles on the clock.
Same car as you have, automatic with 2:73 gears.
I too fell in love with the 4th gen cars and when I sold the '93 I bought a 2001 SS with the LS1 and T-56,paid $8000 for a very nice 86,XXX mile car and since then put another $12,000-$13,000 into it (lost track lol). My '93 was lowered and had a Flowmaster catback, otherwise stock.
