Just thought I would say hello before I started posting.. My first vehicle was a camaro.. I still own it.. It's a 91 Z28 with 69,000 miles.. It looks completely original, yet runs 11.80's on motor in the quarter.. My current Camaro project is a 69 that I've owned for the past 9 years. It's currently at Hoover's Hot Rods in Hartford, KY being completely restored with a few twists.. The engine is an 06 duramax LBZ diesel.. The trans is a 4L85e with everything TCI offered me including a billet converter.. The wheels for shows are 20x8.5 on front, and 22x11's with 305-30 22's on the back. With that being said, I was searching for a suspension/frame setup to hold the power the diesel will be making.. Easily 650 rwhp and 1200 torque. I will post the question in the forums.. I need a complete rear suspension and possibly front as well. I also need to purchase a full cage to help stiffen the chassis. My big problem is I'm not willing to give up the back seat.. So far, Art Morrison offers a rear frame/ladder bar kit that retains the rear seat.. This is what I'm leaning toward, but wanted to research more before ordering. I'm currently in KY just to deliver/buy more parts to get the project moving a little quicker..
If anyone wonders why I would put a diesel in a camaro, there are several reasons.. I'm a diesel junkie.. I have had many, and love to drag race them.. My daily driver '06 2500 weighs in at 6,370 pounds and runs very traction limited low 11's on street tires.. It's 2wd, so I have to pedal it most of the track. It also gets 23 mpg on the interstate running 78.. The duramax only weighs 150-200 pounds more than a big block. I can easily pull big power from this engine, and still get great economy and driveability. I look forward to gaining info on this site..

Propane isn't a great choice for all out power.. In small doses it helps with mileage a power gains. I spray a little nitrous on my 06. These motors can easily make over 500 hp and 1000 tq at the wheels with just programming. I have a vendor giving me a set of injectors..That should bump it up to around 525 to 535 at the wheelswith everything else remaining stock.. From there, a turbo and a modified injection pump is all that's needed to getin the600's with the LBZ.. It really doesn't have to have the injectors, but they will give a little more power, economy, and lower the EGT's slightly. I have a vendor that's willing to give me a break on pricing for the turbo as well.. TCI dropped the price by over half so they can use the car in their brochures. It should be interesting..

Welcome. I was gonna say a ladder in the rear but you know that. As far as the front I would suggest the z06 front suspention, it can hold the many brakes you will need. Tubular ets... Check out the first gen section for other advice.
