Hayyy + Question
Hello!
I'd like to start off as Luke. I live in Arcadia, CA.
I don't own a Camaro, but I'm planning on it, so I thought I'd hop on this forum to research some things and gather info.
I've done some previous research, but I couldn't find an answer. I see that some 4th gen. Camaro's are limited to 110/115 and some speedo's go up to 155/160. This is because of tire ratings when the original owner ordered it, correct?
Does the top speed (115 or 160) have anything to do with auto or manual transmission? As in, are all auto's limited to 115 even with Z rated tires?
Thanks!

oh, i forgot to mention that I'm referring to the fourth gen V8 models.
which brings up another question:
Top speed of the LT1 and LS1. Any difference with Z rated tires? Because there is a 30hp (when it was new) difference.

Speedo numbers don't mean how fast the car will necessarily go. As far as the LT! and LS1, the LS1 used I believe 98 to 02 and is a more powerful motor, hence the difference in hp. Regardless of tires it should be quicker, as far as top speed/tires I'm sure another member will come in to help you there, I have been told the camaros are governed to 110 all the way through 120, never looked it up. I would strongly advise you not attempt to hit those numbers on the street, take it to the track and test it out yourself. As far as the governor, I had mine removed when I got my car tuned. Good luck with your search man.

Still on the drawing board though. Thanks again
