Had 2 3rd gens and want another 3rd or 4th gen
I had a stripped 1985 v6 Camaro from 1988 to 1990, which I traded for a new 1990 RS v8. I loved that car more than any I have ever owned or driven. In 1998 I got married and traded the car for a 1993 Nissan NX2000. The Camaro had 126,000 miles and was rusting in the wheel wells, the heater core blew and the A/C didn't work. I wish I hadn't sold it but it was showing it's age. Now I am turning 40 this year and want another toy. I like the style of the 3rd gen the best, but most of the ones I see have the same rust that my 90 had. That has me leaning toward the 4th gen. I have about 4-5K to spend on it. For that I may be able to get a 1993-4 Z or a 1996-7 v6. I wan't to avoid getting something that will rust and have heard the early ones had a problem with rear wheel well rust. Also it HAS to have t-tops. I know some people prefer the cars without them but I've never seen the point of getting a hardtop Camaro. Strangely enough most of the 3rd gens in decent condition I see in Chicago don't have t-tops. I wish C&C still made their conversion kit.
