hello all =)

just your average chevy enthusiast, from the bay area, california..
i just wanted to introduce myself - i signed up for this a month or 2 ago, and i miraculously remembered my password...
i have a 67 camaro, her name's Rosie =)
she's still a work in progress - slowly but surely i'll have her in top notch condition... perfection takes time (and money!) !
i havent done much, just minor projects that i'm capable of doing myself...
first things first - i want to stop all those leaks before rainy season, and i officially despise rust......... lol.....

thanks, take care,

V

Have you got big plans for her or are you putting her back the way she was? Whats under the hood?

mmmm.... my plan is to keep her original as possible, only a few minor custom fabrications to fit 'my needs'.. but i didnt wanna cut or convert anything that will degrade her, lol..
and i didnt wanna do the whole RS conversion because id hate to drive a 'clone' (but thats just me, others might feel different & i respect that)

nothin major under the hood its just a gm 350 crate motor, 400 tranny... for now...
i have a 385 stroker in reserve but its still in boxes.. just gotta find the time/motivation/money to slap it all together!

it was originally supposed to be a 383, but i f*cked up real bad when i was boring this block i had (i forgot to compress the boring stone on one of the cylinders before i brought it back up! ouch!)... so i had to hone 10 thousandths on all 8 cylinders.... not fun! Then i bought my pistons 40 over, ready for the block when im done with the honing process.... but, honing took FOREVER!!! it was so frustrating and time consuming... so i gave up for a few months...

BUT! (the story has a brighter side!)
i lucked out and found a 350 block already bored out 40 over =)
and i lucked out even more!
the block casting numbers are for a 67 camaro =) woo hoo!

so hopefully while she's in the garage during rainy season, i'll be working on the motor.... hopefully... lol
