Hello all another newb here, well newb to the forum anyway not new to Camaros.
I'm 52 (ya old I know I'm old) wife, three kids and two grand kids and a spoiled dog.
Just picked up a 1993 Z28,pretty sweet car,had to get new tires and I'm having a new front tranny seal installed next week, brings my total purchase to about $3200 so far.
All it needs now is a passenger side door window switch, works from the drivers side and one of the fog lights has a broken lens, seems that all else is good.
The car has been lowered 2" and has one of those suspension brace gizmos under the hood, also has Flowmaster exhaust.
It's great to be back in a Camaro,I had a '69 for 14 years (1978-1992).
She was a plain jane with a 327 4 speed when I got her but I stuffed in a much massaged L89 427 and had lots of fun,at only 22 years old when I built that car I sometimes wonder how I survived heh heh.
My '93 Z is older now that the '69 was when I got it,damn I must be old lol.

The old niner, hood wouldn't close over the big block with an Edlebrock Torquer and Holley double pumper, had to buy a cowl induction hood for it.

I sold that car in about 1991 or '92 and I had a few different rear end setups over the 14 years I had it.
when I first put in it the car it had a 3:08 open rear end,it would melt the tire off the rim all the way through 4th gear if you wanted it to.

Later with a 3:90 posi and L60/14 bias ply meats on the back it hooked up a little better but you still had to feather the throttle to get moving, unless of course the idea was a smoke show.

The 427 L89 had 12:1 compression and ported heads etc., this was back when you could still buy 100 octane leaded gas at the pump.

Thanks for the welcome,I see you are Army so let me also thank you for your service.
I assume by your handle you ride a sportbike,I would too if I was 20 years younger.
You can tell from my handle what I ride.

Thanks,I love the car but it's hard to compare it to the old nail '69 being as they are such different animals.
This car handles like a dream,it's pretty damn quick and has potential for serious speed with only a mild build but it's so smooth and refined and has all the luxo stuff like power windows and cruise control that it seems like a Caddy to me compared with the old niner.
That car was raw power, unrefined rude crude and socially unacceptable, it was downright obnoxious and ohh! how I loved it.
Reminds me of an old motorcycle adage about Honda Goldwings VS Harley Davidsons.
They say riding a Goldwing is like going to a symphony and riding a Harley is like going to a rock concert.
The '69 was rock & roll all the way baby!

Welcome to the forums. Alw2ays nice to see members with expariance in all gens registering with us. I once built a little 262 and put a holley 600 over an edelbrock torquer intake just for giggles. The combo ended up being too much for the little 262...talk about running rich.
