Default Father/Son 1979 Z from VT

My son and I have embarked on a car project and have settled on this 1979 Z28. We wanted a slightly older one (73-75) but when this one came up we jumped on it. This one is appealing to me because of the super clean frame, body and interior. It was appealing to my son because of the stereo system installed (one of only two after market mods). The internet is a great tool to learn, ask and contribute so here we are . I will definitely be looking for recommendations on the motor rebuild, tips on part locators and all the other fun stuff that comes with owning on of these cars.

Talk with you soon,

Tracy and Jeff (son)

Welcome to the forum, a very good father/son project. Think about starting a build thread in the second gen section, take what you learn and pass it on.

Good to see another Father and son project. I bought my son a 98 Firebird for his 16th birthday.

We have added everthing to it we can.
We have started on the 79.
Plans include a 396, 750 dual feed, 3k stallconverter on a TH350, finshing with 3:42 gears.
This is the car he wanted, but it is way too much horespower for a first car, but it would make a cool graduation present in a year.
