A drunk driver killed my baby
I am new to this forum, but I've had my Camaro since before I could drive. It is a 1971 RS Camaro. I've been working on it for over 4 years. This is my senior year in high school - about to graduate - and three days ago I woke up to my Camaro shoved into my front yard. A 2004 Chevy Malibu hit my Camaro which was parked in front of my house at two in the morning. He was drunk - admitted it - and the stupid cops didn't arrest him. He doesn't even have insurance. My Camaro started but it has a ton of body damage. The frame was pushed all the way forward on the drivers side when he hit it in the rear. The exhaust pipes were holding it up on the street - bent all the way down after the air shocks were blown. I could barely get it off the curb the rear axle is so messed up. All I had left to do was the body work and now he killed it. I'm looking for help - suggestions on how to go about it. Any help in Montana. I just can't think I'm so devastated.
Sorry to hear about the car. I think there is more to the story since you say the cops didnt arrest him. You can check out the 2nd gen section for advice on the car, the tech sections are a good source of info. Good luck.
Sorry to hear about your car. Welcome to the forum.

hahaha. I cant help it. I hear cops and dumba$$ in the same sentance I have to jump in.
Leprechaun, ( this is one version of the rest of the story) I imagine that since the 'pigs' didnt see him driving is the reason for no arrest. It saves the department millions in lawsuits to do it right sometimes. I am sure he got a summons (wich - by the way - is an arrest! - so in a way he did get arrested, just not taken to the station) and the judge will sort it all out. I suggest you find out when and where (this is public info) and show up to defend your car. and post up some pics so we can see what you are working with.
