Deal of the Year
Hey guys, New here and also a new Camaro Owner. I bought my first Camaro yesterday. I got a 1999 V6 fully loaded with cloth interior. The T's don't leak the engine is great and the body is pretty good. No major body work needed but the fenders need a little aligning (idiots with floor jacks that don't know what they are doing). Well the deal of the year comes out like this. This car has been sitting for months and was my friend's neighbor. We went to her house yesterday to talk to her about the car and she thought the engine was blown. We looked at it and tried to start it. As we tried to start the car oil started pouring out from under the engine near the oil filter and left a huge mess in the driveway. Yea I know this does not sound all that great just keep reading. We negotiated a price of $500 for the car. Local Wrecking yards want $500 for a good engine so this is still a deal. We use my friend's RS/Z28 to tow the car to his house. we started cleaning up the oil and mess under the car and I noticed that the oil filter gasket was not looking good. I spun the oil filter off the engine and found that the idiot at Jiffy Lube didn't put some fresh oil on the rubber before putting the filter on. We had a filter for the car sitting in a box on the shelf, add a little fresh oil to the gasket, add a few quarts of oil that were lost from the old filter and the car starts and runs great.

We really thought the engine was blown and I was going to be buying the engine from the local yard. We told the lady what had happened and she said that was cool she didn't want the car back and she hoped that I would take really good care of it and keep her for a long time.

I will get some pics up here soon. To top this whole thing off my wife seen my can and got car envy so we went around the lots and found her a black Z28 (her little black dress) We are now just waiting on the bank to come through now. I cant wait. The Z is an OK car a little rough around the edges but not bad over all.
