Hello! I am David Carter,
Team Captain for Hopes and Dreams Racing.
We race in the 24 hours of Lemons race series in the NE region of the US. (https://24hoursoflemons.com/) We have been racing since 2017, championing a 2001 Subaru Impreza AWD with a 2.5l NA, 5speed. 181 Subaru Impreza
For 2025 we decided to be a little crazy and went out on a limb, and won a 2013 Chevy Camaro LS off of Copart.
Still working on the theme.
It's a work in progress..
Hopefully you all can help us prep this car. We haven't worked on something as Electronically locked out as this car seems to be. As a caged wheel to wheel endurance car, it's going to be gutted. All the creature comforts removed, will it go into limp mode because all the seatbelts are missing. How nanny state will this car be. Has anyone done a stand alone ECU with this LFX motor? We usually run Haltech products in our subaru, and with Holden being an Austrailian GM company the 3.6l LFX is not stranger but they seem not to support it. the SIDI system seems "difficult". Either way hopefully some of you can let us know where the weak points are, where the reliability can fall short, oil starvation in long high G corners, over heating, wheel bearings, 6speed flappy paddle automatic slipping, etc.
Look forward to keeping you posted as we beat our heads against a wall. Hopefully we all learn a thing or two.
Also we are looking for teammates in the NE PA area or those who are willing to travel. 4 races a year 2 cars. 8 seats open. Send us an email if you want more details.
Thank you for your time.
David
