Default Camaro Introduction and Revival!

Greetings!

My handle is Squabbles from the 94806 Bay Area zip code. And much like you, I am a Camaro-head. I started driving Camaros when I was 15 years old. The first one I drove in 1997, was a white 1976 LT 350, V8 5.0L w/red interior. It wasn't in pristine condition, but for a first car, it did the job well. The next Camaro I moved onto was my blue 1989 RS 305, V8 5.0L. I drove that car recklessly in my 20's, but learned a valuable lesson in Camaro driving: never underestimate the horsepower of a muscle car and don't drive like a jerk. Lastly, the 3rd Camaro I drove was a cherry red 1999 Z28 350, (LS1) V8 5.0L. Now that, was my favorite Camaro hands down. But there's always a flip side to the coin.

First of all, they were all automatics. So technically, I never experienced the raw power of a Camaro w/a manual transmission. And I also have to mention, that I've crashed all (3) of my Camaros as well. I still have the first two cars: 1976 LT and 1989 RS; howeever, I totaled the Z28.
I figured my Camaro days were finished. But I did get to cruise in the new SS on a road trip to SoCal, before the "Camaro Rush." The new breed of muscle cars is taking over. And since it wouldn't be feasible for me to join the crowd, I came up w/the next best thing: revive the 1989 Rally Sport.

Out of the (2) Camaros I have left, the 1989 is in the best condition w/139k miles on it. My Camaro project is already underway and beginning to take shape. I've set a timeline and budget along w/a checklist of items to modify. I've dubbed this Camaro my "Vegas Raider Runner." And I'm going to stay on par with the development of the new Raider Stadium in Vegas. By the time stadium is built, my Camaro should be built as well.

So far, my Camaro specialist is doing some tuning up just to get the car running again, to drive around town.

I've returned to my passion for Camaros, and as long as I stay focused on my mission, I'll be able to pull up next to one of these new millenium Camaros and re-acquaint them to the old school.
