Another New Guy
Hello All!
Brand new on Camaro Forums and very glad to be here. It's been quite a while since I've owned any type of "older" Chevys and I'm very excited to get to work on the car....and work it's going to need! I own several other vehicles including an '01 Cadillac Deville that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor, recently acquired a '97 Ford F150 (yeah, I know, I said Ford on here) that is in beautiful shape and only getting better and just picked up this Camaro. I was informed that this particular Camaro was used for/with the California Highway Patrol in the late 70's but have not had much luck finding any information that would support that claim. The Camaro has the stock 350 with a new Edelbrock 650 carb and is in relatively decent shape. This is going to be a long term project as I want to make the car spectacular like I have my other vehicles. Unfortunately, my knowledge of rebuilding small block chevys has diminshed over the years since I was a teenager and worked on them daily. I'm looking forward to picking some brains and seek a great deal of guidance from all of you. Looks like I'll be starting with the wiring on the Camaro as under the dash looks like a plate of multi-colored spaghetti with a few crimped on meatball type connectors. Several things are not working, including the passenger side headlight, side-marker and turn signals. It's good to be here and thanks in advance!!

Thanks for the welcome, I'm working on getting some pictures up soon. This project (like many others I'm sure) is going to take some time as I would like to drive the car for the rest of the summer. I'm adding some new exhaust today (just changing the factory muffler and tailpipes for now) and looking for some wheels and tires to throw on there for now. The car still has the factory turbine 14" wheels on it and it drives me nuts! I will start the major work this winter and try to have the car ready for paint in the spring....Should give me enough time to get it ready with how long Northern Michigan winters are!!! Here's the one picture I have of the car so far (sorry for the horrible quality) and I'll get an album going soon hopefully. Thanks again for the nice welcome, nice ride too!
