Default '97 v6 6.8L- Help Please

Got my car from my mom, who didnt take care of it at all. Was going to work on it with my dad but he passed away like a month after i got it. I want to Fix it back up but I know very little about cars. Any suggestions or anything to help would be amazing.

Welcome,

Post in the 4th generation forum under V6 and try to ask specific question. "My car is bad and I want it good" is not going to get you any help.

good start would be picking up a repair manual for your year and model, chiltons will do fine. have the car scanned for trouble codes at a local parts store. welcome to the forum.

Any OBDII scanner will work on it, you can get a book at autozone/pep boys/etc..

depends on what parts, sometimes you can get a good part at a good price from the local store. spend some time on the site reading. lots of info here. look at the stickies and check out the build threads. summit and rock auto are good sites to look at.
