Default 96 Z28

Hey guys,I've had a 91 RS for five years now and a week ago I bought a 96 Z28. While doing research on the new car I came across this forum and thought I'd sign upso I couldhopefully learn a few things about 4th gen's. Hopefully I get a chance to chat with some of you and share a little helpful information.

Being an IROC-89 5.7TPI w/T-5 I must wonder what it was with the new body you liked, cuz I never really attached to the new body style.

RavenI've been a big fan of the 4th gen camaro for as long as I can remember even though I owned a 3rd gen. The fact that my 91 was getting high on miles andwasn't the fastest car aroundwith the 305 I started looking for something new. When I found this 96 Z in the paper Ihad to take a look at it,afterfinding outhow bad they needed the moneyI made an offer of 3800(witch they said yes to)and stoll it. If you were to see what the car looks like inside and out you would know why I say I stoll it, pictures coming soon.

Welcome to the forum. We all have different tastes, I love the 1st gen but have a 3rd...all what matters is if you like your ride. Post up some pic's of both your rides when you have an chance.

The new body just shut me off, like the SN95 Mustang, the later Cobra and SS models turn my gears, but I'm more than happy with my 350 soon to be 383 thanks to a kick *** full time job in Washington. (Cough) And tolerating girl (cough)! I got the IROC cuz it was the exact year as the Mustang GT I have with same look sorta jumped out and said BOOYA! Which is why I sorta lept out paid 400 extra to ensure my little mits got it.

Now both the Camaro and Mustang run low 13's. Both run about the same numbers on power, though the Camaro is meaner straight, and the Stang kills on curves. Neither has yet to play with the GTO down the block again lately... He sorta got beat around a bit last time so I'm sure his rep is a bit hurt.

My dad had a 91 RS with a 305 when I was little. I think it was actually the first car I ever rode in haha. But I really dont like the 3rd gen body style, I think it is UGLY. By the way what kinda condition is your Z in? Because my car (also a 96 Z) cost $5470 and had 99k mi. But its in perfect condition, except for one tear in the drivers side seat.

The condition of the car is great! It doesn't have a rip in the drivers seat like yours, but it does have a scratch on the seatand the frontbumper is a little faded. Other than that it's a really sharp car, that's why I said we stoll it for 3800. It looks like yours, but I can't tell if you have the crome rims, mine does.

Haha yeah I think im gonna get that fixed soon. The guy at the leather place said all they need to do is take that panel of leather out and replace it with a new one. So that wont be too long. My paint job is PERFECT though lol. Oh and my rims are the aluminum. I hate salad shooters though, if I had some money I'd get Z06 or ZR1 rims. But new stereo or exhaust will be first.
