Default 94 Z28 over heating problem

I've done plenty of work on my Z so I'm really familiar with what goes on under her hood. This past Thursday night the water pump died and she spilled her water and overheated a bit (I was really careful not to push it and left the car in a parking lot). Seeing where the coolant was pouring from I determined that it was infact the water pump. Having the car towed back to my house, I replaced the pump and refilled the fluid. Now the water does not seem to circulate. I ran her for about 5 minutes and saw that the temp was way too high and I shut her off. The hoses were still cool and the fans never clicked on. Any thoughts? Could this be the water temp sensor?
