Default 2010 SS into 69

2010 SS donor camaro going into a 69, the 2010 has only 20K and I'd love to use everything possible, can I use the whole front clip/firewall/tunnel,steering,etc and graft the 69 fenders, hood front end onto it? on it? I know the dash will fit inside, but wow, all the wiring, is it worth trying to keep the 2010 stuff in tact?? What all can I make work-with reason.... not going to SEMA or nothing, but hopefully the Hot Rod Power Tour....

Step one is to figure out what title are you using? Some states are very touchy on reconstructed titles. The car must be put back to 100% factory, Do you have a donor 69? They can be pricey now you can buy a new 69 body. The only other option here in PA is apply for a Custom Hot Rod title but I am not sure how that would work with a 69 anything. The primary reason for the hotrod titles was these are cars built before titles with minimal metal on them.

Here in PA Starting with the donor 69 then use the outer skin of the 69 on the 2010 but that is a huge amount of work. It would take a very skilled person. The fire wall may fit but the wheel base is 4" longer and the wind shield is slope is very different. I am sure thing like door length, trunk mounting and hood mounting are all going to be not only sheet metal issues but engineering issues in term of keep water out and structure.

Thanks for the reply. I do have a titled 69, and I'll probably just use the drivetrain, steering column assembly, dash, door panels and seats. Maybe a few other parts here and there.. Then go with a pro touring suspension stage 4 from CPP.
Thanks again for your comments.

If grafting onto a 2010, then the 2010 VIN would be registered.
Otherwise, a kit car and use state-issued VIN?

I will use the 69 VIN, I was just trying to see if anyone has had success using things like the instrument cluster, steering column with air bag/paddle shift/etc, console gauges, etc...... the question wasn't aimed at the vin...... seems I've not worded it correctly. I'd love to get the computer and wiring harness to use these components, as much as possible, from the 2010 into the 69

Ah ha, grafting 2010 into the '89, then use the 69 VIN and title. The main body section being used will be the deciding factor as it has the stamped VIN and tag.

there's no 89 involved whatsoever....... the drivetrain and interior is going into the 69 from the 2010, it should be fun. I hope to find someone to do the correct computer work on as much of the dash as possible
