Default 2002 Camaro

Hello i am new to the forums i just thought i would introduce myself. I recently bought a 2002 Camaro it is comepletly stock i paid 2000 for her its the v6 but so far the bad is i hear a bad lifter tap when i start the car and when i accelerate untill the car warms up and i was told when i had the oil changed i have a bad oil leak which i dont doubt i have one but its not leaking to were i see it under my car and i am not low on oil so i dunno. But i will try to get it fixed hopefully its nothing major. so far the only mods i have is my stereo system. i will have pics when i get a nice day and get her cleaned up. Im looking towards an engine rebuild on her or something of the sort cause i wanna mod it i know it wont be as fast as a v8 but i want it to be alittle quicker its not slow as it is though its the fastest car i have ever owned but i am just babying her for now well im done annoying you all with my messed up typeing

welcome to the forums.

2000 is dirt cheap for any year 3.8 camaro. great find. go to the 4th gen section to answer your questions.

Welcome. I know of 3.8's that are in the 12's. So you can make anything fast as long as you have the $$$. I would not put that much into the performance aspect. the reason? You seem, and I am just guessing , that you're kinda young. As you get a little older w/better job and more $$$ believe me the first thing you will do is dump the 6 and get an 8. Most young fbody guys do it all the time. Make it look pimpy till the 8 rolls in then go ***** to the wall all out. just my .02

Good luck

Yeah them spark plugs were hell but it beat paying $125 dollars to have it done at the shop but at least i got them all without haveing to put the car in the air.

Welcome to the forum. Yeah if you have problems with the spark plug changes in the V6, Wait untill the LT1 or LS1 spark plug changes. Definately alot of swearing involved.
