Default 1970 Z28 Trim Tag

I am considering buying supposedly what is a 1970 Z28 RS. The car was manufactured at the Norwood plant so the trim tag for this car should have "Z28.19" stamped on it. This trim tag is stamped "28.19" only (no Z). Has anyone run across this in the past? I know that the stamping regulations and guidelines were loose in the 60's and 70's so was this possible or is something wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Fred

Run this question by the guys over in the second gen section. Good luck. I might be back after a while with an answer, I will have to check the net though - there are tons of sites dedicated to the cars.
