Good Evening,
My Dad is selling his 69 convertible on Bring a Trailer. There are two tanks in the truck which I always assumed were part of the convertible mechanism. I was wrong as the hydraulic pump for the top is self contained. I can't imagine these are old air ride reservoirs. Anyone have any guesses or seen anything like them?
Thank You Black tank, right rear corner Black tank, drivers rear corner.
1st gen convertibles had them on all 4 corners. They are vibration dampeners, nicknamed "cocktail shakers". This tells all about them: Chevy Camaro FAQ Convertible Cocktail Shakers

Thank You !
I never would have guessed they were for vibration control. Now I'm curious to see if there are two at the front of the car.
Should be behind headlamps. Since 'vert body has no steel top, GM added these weights reducing vibes of body preventing further flexing .
They dampen harmonics of the 'vert body.
