Default z28 upgrade ?s

I currently own a 95 z28 (automatic car)with a K&N cold air intake, jet throttle body airfoil, hypertech power programmer, andflowmaster exhaust. I wanted to know if if would see any performance gain out of replacing the Mass Air Flow sensor with a performance one with cold air tune since no intake or head porting has been done. Also I've been thinking about putting 3.73 gears in it. How many mpgs am i looking to loose over the 3.23's and would I absolutly need to put a more heavy duty rear in the car.

You won't need a new rear end, only when you start putting out big horsepower. You might lose a couple MPG's, but I don't think that should detour you.

i know guys putting out over 100hp more than you on stock rears with 4.10s. they wont handle many drag launches but if you stay on street tires you wont break anything.

depends on your budget, the stock rear ends dont hold up to much. Its like a ticking time bomb. But you can always rebuild them.

To answer your MAF question: No. The "performance" MAF's are bull, replace the housing with a larger diameter housing and you'll get the same result. Check out Mid-America motorworks LT1 Corvette section, they should sell just a larger diameter housing. The HP increase they claim were actually tested on a dyno by Corvette Magazine and they were spot on.
