Z28 Running Issues!
So just had a issue with my '95 Z and have absilutely no idea what it could be. I drove it to work and it ran fine. Didn't use it at work, but when I went to leave for home, at first it didn't want to turn over and once it finally did, it was running horrible.
The engine was chugging hard, real low RPMs, strange noises from the catalytic converter, and I thought a hint of smoke maybe. I took it to the gas station thinking possibly bad gas, filled it up, got it started, but it still ran like garbage.
I thought maybe shifting would help ran like crap then too. Finally, as I was pulling into a lot, she just shut down on me and wouldn't turn over again.
Do you guys know what may cause this? The shop was closed for the 4th so I couldn't get it looked at, but have a great need to know. Thanks guys!

Thanks for the diagram, I'll definitely read through and see what I can find.
No security light. Everything lights up as it normally wouls during starting...just doesn't start. Could it be a coil?

Just so everyone is on the same page.
1) Engine cranks = starter can spin the engine
2) Engine starts = starter spins engine and engine starts
3) Engine turns over = means nothing in particular as any engine that turns over can either be cranking or running. Or the engine can be turned manually with a big wrench.
Assuming the engine is mechanically sound, and cranking properly, for the engine to start and run it need spark at the proper time, and fuel delivered to the cylinders. It is very useful to check for trouble codes, as they can give you a starting point. Check for spark at the plugs while the engine is being cranked, they should be blue and fat, yellow is bad. Check fuel pressure with a gage, if pressure is OK, get some noid lights an check that the injectors are being pulsed.

Alright guys, so new issue... found out the original problem was the fuel pressure regulator. The diaphragm ruptured and started to suck in a bunch of gas. Well I replaced the part, but still not starting properly.
The engine will crank, but won't start on the first attempt, so I have to let it sit for a bit and then try again. Still it won't go right away like it normally does. It just cranks and there is a smell of gas. As soon as I get it going tho, it seems to run great. Any idea what this could be?
Thanks!
