i have a 95 z28 with a few problems and need some help
-when the engines cold is has a lot of trouble starting and will sometimes blow a little smoke underneath the car by the intake and sometimes has a little trouble starting wen warm also but not near as bad
-when i shift from park into gear it jumps forward about an inch or 2...there is a bearing that does need to be replaced at the end of the transmission but still not really sure if thats the issue
-when driving theres a howling noise coming from the rear axle, i tried some differential conditioner and it quieted down a smidge but only for a little while and still makes the noise

if u have any suggestions ur help would be greatly appreciated

 

The noise from the rear axle is probably because your rear end gears are going bad. How many miles are on your car???

 

The rear end noise your hearing is your carrier bearings blown out does it make the noise when you slow down to.
The other reasons could have lots of different problems with it how does it drive besides the rear noise. i.e missing sputtering and anything of the sort?
The transmission jumping usually resorts to wear and tear how many miles.

thats wat my dad was thinkin he says theres a blown bearing at the end of the transmission but im not to sure wat hes talkin about or which specific one, and the noise does continue wen ur slowing down it just quiets down a smidge
my dad also thinks its missing and it has trouble starting
ya the tranny may be goin but im not to sure on just about anything with this car and its got 90,250 miles, around there

 

Well I can only give an opinion on the car starting or not starting I should say, it can be a lot of things. Plugs, starter, injectors, ignition wires, opti, etc. Run a diagnostic and check the codes. You should not be seeing smoke which can be the extrafuel used at start up which is usually why you don't see the smoke after start up. This is due to a seal/gasket that is shot and or leak somewhere like a hole in your manifold or exaust pipe..etc But that's just one thing. again, it can be many. Hook it up and see what the computer says.
