Which would win?
A long time buddy of mine has a 93' Z28 and I have a 2000 SS.. We have raced penty.. He never wins but it is still a good race I only have about 2 car lenths on him from about 0 -100mps.. If he had some money to spend on his ride he could easily get to keep pace with me.
I'm told stock vs stock the Ls1 would win.My Lt1 isn't stock,so I don't know.However,I have no problems at all beating Ls1's,stock or modified

Once an engine is modified, all bets are off. It all depends on the mods. The only way to tell who done the best job. is to go to a strip and race, under controlled conditions, against some one with similiar mods & see who done the best job.
my 97 ss with an lt1 and a six speed has no problem turning low 13 second quarters, the only mods i have done are a k&n intake and hooker headers. i fly past most of the ls1 guys at the strip and on the street no problem, alot of this also depends driver skill.
