so i got the trans on and the exhaust leak fixed started her up and it sounds like theres a blower on the car... and its idling like its got the biggest cam ever... ill get a vid later my neighbors baby is sleeping now... btw about 20-30 min to bolt up the trans

You must have a big vacuum leak somewhere.

thats what i was thinking... now that i think about it it looked like the hose that goes to the TB (not the one from the valve cover) was a little crappy ill try replacing that

so the po cut the trans cooler lines and used rubber... now my problem is i cant find where i wrote down which line is which. anyone know what line goes to the top of the rad

and someone here told me the stock trans cooler is junk can i just replace it with an external cooler and mount it in front of the radiator

I've never had a problem with the stock trans cooler in mine. You can always add an aftermarket one if you want, but I don't think it is necessary.

I'm not sure which line goes where though and it is too cold out in the garage for me to crawl under mine and look.

never use just a aftermarket trans cooler. you can add a aftermarket to it. thats what i did.

WTF this trans is shot i drove the car down the street (drove great) turned around got up to about 30 and bam no trans is it just my luck or are these 4L60Es junk

I seem to be lacking a much needed score card on you! For the sake of my eyes, to save a re-read....where did the trans come from, out of, and miles on it? All the electrical hookups to it are hooked up?

the score is...
1 dead 3.4L
1 dead LT-1
3 dead transmissions
and a really pissed camaro owner

anyways got the trans from the junkyard out of a january 94 built chevy astrovan 2wd that was wrecked in the rear with 146xxx miles sticker on the windshield said running/totaled (my junkyard buys cars from auctions) electrical is good

Hmmm...running doesn't mean "moving" though. That's a lot of work and time to go through to put in a trans that has 146k miles.
Was it a cargo van (worked hard)? Not trying to rub it in, just sayin.....
