sigh........ another kid wants gobs of power so he can "rape" his dad's Mustang
I agree
yes, you need a twin turbo setup. Forget building just the engine. You need something where you can easily increase boost when you fill the tank with racing fuel. Why would you want to settle for 6 pounds of boost when you can get to 16, 20 or more with a different tune and racing fuel
You should also bore the engine, stroke it, go completely forged, change the entire top end and while you are there, back half the car. Forget the raptors or any other rebuilt tranny, you should go right for the good stuff.
http://www.lencoracing.net/ST1200MasterPage.html and go with the 5 speed
by the time you add the clutch, driveshaft and rear end you will only be around $10,000- $12,000 for those items depending on what you do. That's short dollars to be able to handle the power you plan on making in order to "rape Dad's Mustang".
You could check racingjunk.com to see if anyone has any setups they are trying to unload but you don't know what you'll be getting when you buy used.
Another issue you will need to address is the location of the intercooler for your twin turbos. Our front ends aren't very kind with respect to room and locating an intercooler. But, with the amount of power you need to make so you can "rape Dad's Mustang" you may wish to consider instead of a back-half car, why not go full chassis car so you can modify the front end and really cool down that air so you can make more power.
I'll be interested in hearing how the project progresses during the winter; please keep us apprised.

people people, he didnt say dads mustang is a 9 sec car, he just said he wants to beat him,,, twin turbo is more for the glory of two on our cars, go with a single, with intercooler, seen plenty fit just fine, run 8 lbs which you can with what youre talking about and youll be around 500 ponies... maybe a little less, you dont need huge trans rear ends and all that for turbo cars, thats not whats stressed in a boost situation

not necessarrily. Maybe lag is important to him and thus why he wants to go twin turbos. Also, he said that he wants to "rape his Dad's Mustang" so that doesn't sound like he just wants to squeak by.
As for rear ends and trannies, since we don't know his driving habits, and that he wants to "rape Dad's Mustang" then I can only assume that he is launching hard and putting out a ton of torque so yes, he will need to upgrade.
no twin turbos still run lag, the best way to eliminate lag is a spray of no2 or snowmethe, thatll get the turbo going with VERY minimal lag, and its as close to lagless as you can get, and its cheaper than twin turbos
and as for launching hard... as long as hes still on street tires, theyll break before anything else, especially on boost,,,, forced induction creates hp, torque doesnt really become any more or a problem
