You can do it within budget if you get look to Ford for the rear end LOL yes i said it get a 9 inch or the 8.8 and cut and weld puchases and control arm brackets on it. Just do away with the rear sway bar.

I might be nuts but I dont have a sway bar on the rear of my car..
A sway bar is for side to side stability known as transverse stability not longitudinal.
The setups for drag racing and handling manueverability are at two opposite ends of the spectrum. In drag racing most of the force is exerted longitudinally, however torque reaction does take place (the principal is the same for helicopters, the torque of the motor makes the helo spin in the oppoite direction, hence the tail-rotor) and exerts some forces transversely... I dont have a rear sway bar and I launch completely straight. I have a bag inside of the right rear spring in order to counteract the forces of torque reaction.
Loose the sway bar, get a good set of control arms, and a panhard bar and mark my words you will never know its not back there unless you decide that you want to corner extremely hard one day.

Man 8000 in the right places for set-up will go very far NICE:-D Just resist the urge to turn the hazards on at the end of the track when you race the truck...kinda tacky i think
How bout a clutch have you looked into the Spec clutches?

so i have good torque arm pan hard bar control arms sub frame connectors cage shocks and a bag in the RR wen i finish and start racin if i take that fat a$$ spohn bar off ill put money on a real F'ed up launch. and that budget will fit well. as far as the ford rear goes its a moser 9" not a ford ;-) think of it lik that and you'll hav the strongest rear

Oh my are u telling me that only Moser made a nine inch? Ford definitely made a nine inch and I have put them under 3 camaros and a 72 duster. They are super strong and while I have a Moser 9 inch under mine the Ford is cheaper by at least 2000 dollars. He had a budget build I merely offered a solution.

i just got done looking at the moser 9 inch. the specs i put on the order form gave me a grand total of 3800. yes i looked at the at the clutches also the one i was looking at is about 1200. what gear ratio do you guys recomend? that leaves me 3000 for the bottom end. plus this car needs sway bars it is going to be my bad a$$ dd. what do you guys think about methanol injection on gas engines. thanks for all the input.

plus i also think the flasher idea is stupid i work with the guy that has the dodge and he is helping me with this build, that is why i am going turboed.
