Yepp, that's the one. I'll plug it in tomorrow. There's also some vacuum lines on the right side of the engine that they plugged with some sort of epoxy. Any idea on those? I'd love to find a diagram for the egr and air and find where to plug things properly.

Hey craby,

How much of a gain would I get from deleting the AIR and EGR from the car, and where can I get blockoff plates?

And I know this may be silly to ask, but how do bad O2 (or on their way out) sensors affect a car's performance?

hp gains from deleting the egr or air pump is 0. failing 02 sensor usually will cause a rich condition.

the gain you get is not needing to buy the headers with those silly connectors and if you have an auto tranny, they are so much easier to install.

With respect to O2 going bad. It might idle rough. It may fall on its face when you mash the throttle, it might backfire. The bigger problem is not so much running rich but if the vehicle doesn't throw a code and go into open loop, then you risk running lean which is never a good thing.

If you have been running rich, or had bad O2s for a while, then plan on changing the spark plugs

Sorry to hound you guys, but I've got even more questions.

What are some signs of a failing opti? How much of a pain is it to replace?
How hard is it to replace the plugs and wires? Anything need to be removed?
If I do the opti, should the water pump also be replaced as a precaution?
Can anyone get me detailed pictures of the motor and connections? It's almost like a puzzle.. I need a reference.

There has been a fire in the engine bay of my car in its past. There's wires that are poorly spliced, and overall they just didn't take care of it. Is there a way to replace most of these connections? I figured I can go to pull a part and cannibalize from another car.
