What is it??

Please emphasize 18 years old. Unless you know the entire maintenance history, you can't assume the vehicle is fit as a fiddle. It's a used car and was sold for a reason just like you feel like selling it right now. if you don't have the time, or capital to get it into decent running shape then yes you should sell it to someone who knows what they are getting.
My 95 has been the recipient of many $$$ and much of my time, but it runs like a charm, starts every time the key is turned and performs great. My 89 RS will be getting a new long block and rebuilt tranny. I'm going over everything in it (see my thread) so if I do sell it, the new owner will get complete details. Again, that's a 22 year old car and I did not expect perfection when I purchased it.
So please step back, understand what it is you have and that it will require repairs until it's back up to snuff.
